The United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Thursday completed its 77th airdrop of humanitarian aid over the Gaza Strip, deepening a sustained regional airlift campaign aimed at reaching civilians amid worsening conditions in the territory. The mission was conducted under the UAE-led Birds of Goodness initiative, part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, in cooperation with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and with support from Germany, France, the Netherlands, Singapore and Indonesia.

The airdrop delivered emergency food supplies, organized by Emirati charitable foundations, into designated areas within Gaza. With overland aid routes remaining severely restricted due to ongoing conflict and border closures, aerial delivery has become one of the few viable channels for delivering relief to civilians. This latest operation pushes the cumulative total of airlifted aid by the UAE under this program to more than 4,028 tonnes.

Military aircraft launched the operation from regional bases, deploying cargo via parachute systems to ensure targeted and efficient drops. The coordinated missions are designed to bypass damaged infrastructure and access communities in urgent need, as humanitarian organizations continue to report acute shortages of food, clean water and medical supplies across the Gaza Strip.

Jordan has played a pivotal role in the campaign. The Jordan Armed Forces have independently conducted nearly 160 airdrops since late July and coordinated with international partners to carry out approximately 385 joint missions to date. These combined efforts have delivered around 785 tonnes of humanitarian assistance into the enclave.

Figures reported earlier this week by Jordanian sources show a steady increase in operations, with previous counts citing 158 airdrops and 371 joint missions totaling 778 tonnes, illustrating the dynamic and evolving nature of the airlift. The aerial relief effort has become central to regional humanitarian outreach, particularly as diplomatic negotiations to secure ground access for aid convoys remain unresolved.

Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 leads regional aid

Aid officials describe the airdrops as essential, especially for reaching isolated communities that have been cut off from regular supply lines for months. The scale and coordination of the campaign reflect growing international concern over the depth of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The UAE has emphasized the importance of sustained, multilateral cooperation in its approach to humanitarian aid. Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, with its aerial relief component, has emerged as a core instrument of this strategy, backed by logistical and financial support from Emirati aid organizations.

The operation highlights a model of rapid, coordinated response in the face of complex emergencies. Officials from participating countries have affirmed their commitment to continuing these efforts. Additional airdrops are planned in the coming days, as the humanitarian situation remains critical. With food insecurity rising and medical systems under pressure, regional governments and their partners say they are prepared to maintain and expand aerial aid operations for as long as access constraints persist. – By Content Syndication Services.
